We’re Hiring! Creative Learning/ResonATe Assistant (0.6 FTE)

An Tobar and Mull Theatre, Tobermory • Permanent • £16,224 per annum (pro rata)

Closing date: Friday 19 December 2025, 5pm

An Tobar and Mull Theatre (AT&MT) is looking for a warm, enthusiastic Creative Learning Assistant to join our small, friendly team and help support our growing programme of creative activity across the island.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone at an early stage in their creative learning career—or someone who simply loves working with people and wants to develop their skills in a supportive, hands-on arts environment. You don’t need to know everything yet. What matters most is curiosity, kindness, a genuine interest in arts education, and a willingness to learn.

About the role

You’ll work closely with our Head of Creative Learning to support workshops, classes, and outreach projects in theatre, movement, music, and visual arts. One day you might be helping a visiting artist set up for a workshop; the next, assisting in a youth theatre rehearsal or helping welcome a primary school group into the building.

You’ll also help with the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the programme running smoothly—coordinating sessions, looking after participants, supporting evaluation, and helping us create spaces where everyone feels safe, welcome, and inspired.

This is a training and development role. We’ll provide guidance, mentoring, and opportunities to grow your skills and confidence, with the hope that the post-holder will eventually step into a future leadership role within our Creative Learning team.

About you

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • enjoy working with children, young people, and adults,

  • have some experience supporting creative or community activity (formal or informal),

  • are organised, friendly, and willing to muck in with whatever needs doing,

  • care deeply about inclusion and access,

  • and are excited by the idea of helping creativity thrive on Mull.

Why join us

AT&MT is a busy, welcoming, multi-artform hub at the heart of our island community. Our Creative Learning team works with people of all ages—from toddlers taking their first steps into creative play to adults returning to creativity after years away. Every day looks a little different here, and there’s plenty of room to grow, experiment, and find your way.
