Plan(et) B

Winter ‘Pop Up’ Season 2023

This winter we’re going to try something different

We’re bringing a Pop-Up Arts Centre to as many homes, community spaces and village halls across Mull as we can, offering a unique programme of music, visual arts, theatre and creative learning events right on your doorstep.

We’re taking our programme on the road because so many people have told us that they struggle to get to Tobermory to attend our events during the winter and because we’re trying to find ways to reach more people without spending more money.

Every year, from November to March, we spend 40% of our energy costs to reach just 10% of our audiences. Our trusty oil-boiler cranks out heat that barely warms the cold Victorian school stones before it’s blown away by the wind.

It’s bad for our bank balance and it’s worse for the environment.

An Tobar and Mull Theatre is a charity dedicated to enriching the cultural life of Mull. It matters to us that we’re alight with arts and culture events even in the darkest months.

So this winter we’re trying something new.

From 6th November until 3rd March we are moth-balling our buildings and taking our whole artistic programme on tour across Mull and Iona.

All of the Plan(et) B programme is now live on our What’s On page here including A Stranger Comes To Town, The Story Bus, the Mull and Iona Studio Cèilidhs and our At Home Concerts!
