Clay Days with Rebecca
A two day pottery workshop
Saturday 1 Nov and Saturday 22 Nov 10.30am-3pm.
Rebecca Atkinson grew up in a pottery shed, quite literally—her dad was a craft potter trained under Harold Thornton, and the family kiln was even used to cook the Christmas turkey. Surrounded by clay, glaze, and visiting potters from around the world, she absorbed the craft without even realising it. After years working in theatre, she found her way back to clay in 2018 and now runs a small studio on Mull as well as her family’s pottery in Crete. Her work draws on the Leach tradition, blending Japanese and Chinese influences with a touch of ancient Greek aesthetics and the colours and textures of the Hebridean landscape—especially her beloved green glazes.
This two-day workshop is perfect for beginners and anyone curious about clay. You’ll get hands-on with both wheel throwing and hand-building, learn the basics of shaping, glazing and firing, and create your own ceramic piece from start to finish. It’s a friendly, creative space to slow down, try something new, and get a bit muddy!
£60 each.
There are only eight spaces for this workshop, please book early!
