Finlay Birch | Weight Will Unwind in Concert
Experience the debut album performed live for the very first time with a full band in An Tobar's Live Room. The performance will feature the 30-minute album in full, interwoven with stories, reflections and conversation about each song.
Finlay Birch is a Scottish singer-songwriter originally from Inverclyde and now based on the Isle of Mull, where his creative spirit has long felt at home. His music blends alternative folk, indie and soft rock, shaped by a reflective writing style and a strong sense of place. Working with producer and long-time best friend Dylan Cooper, Birch’s debut album Weight Will Unwind brings together songs written across nearly a decade, from material first penned eight years ago to songs completed within the past six months. The album marks a new chapter in his songwriting, rooted in warmer, more organic arrangements and a collaborative approach. Exploring themes of emotional weight, stillness and release, his songs favour honesty, atmosphere and restraint over polish. Listen to the album via his website: https://finlaybirchofficial.com/

“Weight Will Unwind is messy, tender, hopeful, frustrated, romantic, and painfully human. It does not offer answers. It holds the moments up to the light, one by one, until something in the listener shifts slightly. That, in the end, is what the good ones do.” Indie Dock Music Blog
