Drawn from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra’s exceptional musicians, the SCO Wind Soloists have long been considered among the world’s finest wind ensembles, bringing together all the precision and character of chamber music with the vividness and power of orchestral performance.

The SCO Wind Soloists cross eras and countries in their wide-ranging programme, bringing together music designed to delight and entertain with more pioneering masterpieces.

Telemann’s Ouverture in F assembles a collection of Baroque dances from the time of JS Bach, while Mozart and Hummel challenge the fashion for wind-band background music with works that are sunny and charming, but full of power and sophistication.

Beethoven’s Rondino is a brief but intensively expressive early masterpiece, and receives a rare performance. French-born Poulenc and Hungarian-born British composer Mátyás Seiber bring their wind music firmly into the 20th century, in works that dazzle and entertain.
