Waking on a winter’s morning, snowed in and without power, a young woman takes in the day in front of her. As she gathers wood for the fire and water from the burn, she encounters a young deer - fragile and taking the necessary steps to survival, like her. They hold each others’ gaze, then, like an apparition, the fawn flits away. 

Touched by the strange encounter, and alone with her thoughts, she finds herself turning to memory, to story, to song.
As dawn beckons, it brings with it a new voice.
