A conversation with Alasdair Satchel and Seamas Carey

Join us for an evening conversation exploring all things podcasting.

For one night we'll be bringing Cornwall and Mull closer together as Seamas and Alasdair explore the links between the two locations so carefully captured through their respective podcast series "The Reason Why" and "What We Do In the Winter."

Making the most of Seamas Carey's brilliant sell-out comedy "Help! I think I'm a Nationalist" coming to Mull we are taking the opportunity for a deeper dive into some of the themes explored. Just as Alasdair and Seamas have done in their podcasts, we'll be using a conversational format to get behind some of the subject matter and hear directly from the creators about what drove them to make their series. Look forward to more on the questions they explore, the things they've learnt and the many reasons why they do what they do. A not-to-be-missed evening for fans of both series!

"The reason why is a brilliant podcast series from SeamasCarey exploring so many elements of Cornish identity. Loads of honest, nuanced conversations, brilliant presenting, and excellent music too” Gwenno Saunders

"The aim of What We Do In The Winter is to allow the people of Mull, and the other island communities around it, to tell the stories of who they are, what they remember of the islands in the past, and how they fit into the world at large." Alasdair Satchel

You can find out more about both series or listen to episodes in advance of the big night here:

The format for the evening will be a live recorded conversation with a chance for the audience to ask questions at the end. A recording of the evening may even form the basis for a new collaborative one-off podcast too.
