Clore Fellowship

Clore Leadership is delighted to welcome the 2023/24 Clore Fellows as they embark on the Clore Fellowship Programme this autumn.

The highly valued Clore Fellowships are awarded to dynamic change-makers from across the arts and culture sector who demonstrate vision, strategy and an appetite or collaboration in leading the arts, culture and creativity for a positive impact on society.

The Creative Scotland Fellowship is awarded to An Tobar and Mull Theatre Artistic Director and Chief Executive, Rebecca Atkinson-Lord.

"My Clore Fellowship has already been an incredible experience that has prompted a host of new collaborations - including a new dance project for An Tobar and Mull Theatre. For the next few months, I'll be undertaking an intense whirlwhind of training and professional development as part of the fellowship, including exploring ways to influence national arts policy for the benefit of the community of Mull.

This winter, I'm excited to be seconded to Kew, where I'll be helping them design their arts engagement strategies across their global operations. The work Kew are doing is hugely important in helping us understand the impact of climate change on biodiversity and their work with artists is vital in making sure that as many as people as possible can share in their discoveries.

I'm also being mentored by Lord Chris Smith of Finsbury, the former Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. Lord Smith is a brilliant person to get to work with, not only because of his world-leading experience in designing arts and culture policy but also because of his experience of living in the highlands and islands. He has a brilliant understanding of how arts and culture can impact communities like ours. I can't wait to get stuck in - and to bring everything I learn back to my work on Mull to enrich our programme.

I'm honoured that Creative Scotland has chosen me for the fellowship this year - it's a huge vote of confidence in the work we're doing at An Tobar and Mull Theatre and a massive investment in our future plans."
